CARIBBEAN ELITE TOUR
THE BASICS
A series of bodybuilding tournaments called "EURO ELITE TOUR" started in 2006 by the European Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation. The TOUR included about a dozen events held in different European towns and countries. The TOUR events were comprised of one open category of men elite bodybuilding champions.
The Caribbean version of the ELITE TOUR could consist of four to six events in different countries or different cities within the same country. Competitors will be awarded prize money. For each tournament the total prize money could be US$ 10,000 to 15,000.
These should be invitational events. The line-up of a minimum of 10 participants could be composed of host country athletes and athletes from other countries. Each invited athlete would be provided with free accommodation (hotel room and three meals per day) for two days and up to US$ 300 to reimburse his cost of travel (only for foreign athletes; with a minimum of 5 competitors). Athletes who are not invited by the promoter may participate in each event; however they will have to cover all of their own expenses.
All participating competitors must be members in good standings of their National Federations. Bodybuilders who are currently not members of their National Federations will have to apply for that membership first. They should provide their personal data, a history of their competitive career, two passport-type photos and a few stage photos from their latest appearance. They should also declare if they want to participate in spring events (May to June) or in autumn events (October to December).
Each competitor would have to pay an annual license fee of US$ 100 to the IFBB for each calendar year.
Minimum guaranteed prize money distribution:
1st place: US$ 3,000
2nd place: US$ 1,500
3rd place: US$ 1,000
4th place: US$ 800
5th place: US$ 700
Places 6th to 10th: US$ 400
Places 11th to 15th: US$ 200
Each TOUR event should be judged by seven highly qualified IFBB international judges (two from the host country and five from other countries) plus a chief judge and chief statistician. Foreign judges will be paid up to US$ 300 to cover their costs of trip.
All Caribbean National Federations would be requested to prepare a list of its national bodybuilders who would like to participate in this TOUR. These lists should be sent to the IFBB Caribbean headquarters before April 1st of each year.
After receiving the list of competitors nominated to this TOUR by National Federations, The IFBB Caribbean Management Committee, in cooperation with the CACBBFF and local organizers, will issue invitations. Then the list of competitors for each event will be announced.
Each competitor intending to participate in the Caribbean TOUR should also participate in all IFBB and CACBBFF amateur events.
